I recently published 'Outposts of Steam' double DVD with footage of my September-October 2011 trip to Baiyin, Sandaoling and Fuxin. These are probably 3 of the best 4/5 standard gauge real steam locations in China or anywhere else on earth. See my website for details. I have almost finished 'When Steam was Real - Western Turkey' using footage of my own and from David Thornhill. The footage was shot in the 1990s towards the end of steam in Turkey and although there are lots of kreigsloks, the footage also includes G8 0-8-0, G10 0-10-0, Stephenson 2-8-2 and 57xxx 2-10-2. The locations include the famous turntable at Odemis, the viaduct at Egridir, Halkapinar works, Hilal flat crossing and a steamy Usak. If I can squeeze it on, it will also have the G8.2 2-8-0 class at work on the isolated Eregli - Armutcuk line. Future projects include Statfold Barn 2011, an Indian 'When Steam was Real' DVD using footage taken by Peter Strudwicke as well as a DVD of my upcoming visit to Dresden provisionally called 'Winter Steam and Sparks' as long as I get some good Dresden tram footage to include.
